Turtle Screts
ICAL members have used state of the art CT to reveal the last moments of a turtle 65 million years ago.
Jennifer Anné, ICAL member and research associate at New Jersey State Museum, has used state of the art CT scanning to show the precise moment of death of a turtle, 65 million years ago, captured in stone. The limbs inhtis very rare and almost intact fossil are withdrawn into the shell, just as a threatened turtle would do today. More details of this remarkable find are revealed on the PennVet website. Anné is currently on her way to the Bighorn Basin Dinosaur Project’s 2016 Field Expedition, so we're expecting more exciting finds in the near future.
